Perfect Day — Privacy Policy
Updated October 4, 2026. Applies to the upcoming Perfect Day release.
Perfect Day stores your preferences and plans on your device. The app does not send your app data to us or sell it. Apple services process requests needed to provide forecasts, place search, local time zones, and purchases.
What the app uses, and where it stays
- Location (optional): used on your device to request the weather forecast for where you are from Apple's Weather service (Apple WeatherKit). Your coordinates also go to Apple's geocoding service to confirm a place's time zone. Searching for a place sends your search to Apple Maps. We cache place and time-zone information on your device. These Apple requests are governed by Apple's privacy policy. You can decline location access and use a default or manually added location instead.
- Saved places and preferences: your comfort settings and saved locations are stored on your device. A local app group shares the forecast display snapshot with widgets. The app sends that snapshot to your paired Apple Watch using Apple's Watch Connectivity, including forecast dates, scores, summaries, place name, time zone and forecast-age information. These are not sent to us.
- Forecast cache and history: forecasts are cached on your device so you can reuse them and see an earlier forecast when a refresh fails. A limited forecast history also stores place/date information, comfort scores, preference snapshots and original fetch times locally. Readable older history is migrated to remove unused raw weather inputs. Unreadable history is preserved byte for byte in separate local recovery records before new score history replaces it; these unknown records may still contain older weather inputs. About shows a notice when recovery data exists. You can remove only unreadable history there after confirmation, keeping readable scores, places, preferences and plans. Recovery records are not automatically deleted or sent to the developer. These records describe forecasts, including future days, rather than observed weather.
- Calendar and Reminders (optional): only touched when you explicitly tap "Add to Calendar" or "Remind me," and only to create the item you asked for.
- Notifications (optional): scheduled locally on your device from the forecast; no notification content is sent to any server.
- Activity profiles: named copies of your comfort preferences stay on your device. Calendar exports include the place, forecast fetch time and sample-data notice when applicable.
- Saved outdoor plans: the activity name, selected place and hours, preference snapshot and forecast-check state stay on your device. Optional plan monitoring requests weather from Apple for that saved place and creates local notifications when a newer forecast crosses your thresholds. Checks share the refresh allowance and depend on background time granted by iOS.
- Subscriptions (optional): Apple processes payments. StoreKit verifies subscription access on your device; we do not receive payment details or send receipts to a developer-operated server.
What we don't do
- No accounts, no sign-in.
- No analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
- No app analytics or automatic collection of app data by the developer.
